Christy Litz is a registered patent attorney and works as part of a team of attorneys who provide practical solutions to the intellectual property priorities of clients.​ Her work encompasses the full spectrum of intellectual property law, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. Her practice also includes applications, risk avoidance analyses, and enforcement and defense of intellectual property rights.

Prior to joining Parker Poe, Christy gained experience as a paralegal in family law and as a law clerk at the South Carolina Senate Judiciary Committee. At the Senate Judiciary Committee, she compiled and analyzed data for state and congressional redistricting, researched bills and resolutions, and screened applicants for judgeship.

Christy received her law degree from the University of South Carolina, where she was an editor of the South Carolina Journal of International Law and Business and a member of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Team. She was also part of the Nonprofit Organizations Clinic, where she assisted local charitable organizations with corporate formation and structure as nonprofit organizations in addition to obtaining 501(c)(3) tax exempt status. Christy earned her bachelor’s degree in biology at Furman University, where she was a United Nations Academic Impact Millennium Fellow.

Outside of work, Christy enjoys pottery, baking, and volunteering with Interface Ministries.
