Elizabeth M. Crompton

Counsel

Elizabeth Crompton concentrates her practice on patent disputes before district courts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. She also counsels clients on the infringement, validity, and enforceability of patents, particularly in the life sciences and manufacturing industries, as well as on FDA regulation relating to pharmaceuticals. In addition, she helps her clients file and prosecute patent applications to obtain patents protecting their inventions. She has deep experience with the Hatch-Waxman Act and design patents.

In addition to her law degree from George Mason, Elizabeth earned a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Northwestern. Elizabeth’s background allows her to evaluate and understand potential inventions, work with the inventors to best protect those inventions, and litigate to protect the resulting patents, or defend a client from allegations of infringement. She also uses her experience to help clients prepare and submit New Drug Applications and Abbreviated New Drug Applications, as well as to litigate patent infringement issues related to those applications.
