Charlotte, N.C. – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that the American Bankruptcy Institute has selected Ashley Edwards as one of its 40 Under 40 winners. ABI’s 40 Under 40 program recognizes insolvency professionals across the country who are committed to the highest standards of achievement at work and in their communities.

The ABI considered more than 350 insolvency professionals under the age of 40 for this year’s class. The winners were chosen by a diverse steering committee that factored in achievements on behalf of clients, dedication to the profession, leadership skills, community service, and other qualities.

The committee recognized Ashley for accomplishments in the insolvency profession as a litigator, a leader, and a mentor. Ashley has played a major role in Parker Poe’s most high-profile bankruptcy cases and helped the firm’s Financial Restructuring & Insolvency Group earn the highest possible ranking – Band 1 – from Chambers USA each of the past four years in North Carolina. As one of very few women in Mecklenburg County whose legal practice focuses on bankruptcy, she is also a persistent advocate for women in the legal profession.

In addition, she has been a member of the ABI’s Southeastern Advisory Board since 2016. She is a graduate of the Mecklenburg County Bar’s Leadership Institute, has chaired the bar’s CLE Committee, and has chaired the litigation subcommittee for the Western District of N.C. Bankruptcy Local Rules Committee. She has also logged more than 600 hours providing pro bono representation to abused and neglected children through North Carolina’s Guardian ad Litem program.

Ashley and the other 40 Under 40 winners will be celebrated during the ABI’s 2019 Winter Leadership Conference in California, where they’ll take part in a reception with ABI leaders and judicial faculty from the conference. She will also be profiled in the ABI Journal.

Previously, Ashley has been honored as part of the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges’ Next Generation (NextGen) Program and as one of The Mecklenburg Times’ “50 Most Influential Women.”
